Dr. David Smith joined Family Dentistry in 1981. A native Grinnellian, he graduated from Grinnell High School, the University of Iowa and the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry. His wife Carol is also employed as a dental hygienist with Family Dentistry. Together they have three children, Grant, Alex, and Lauren.
Locally, Dr. Smith has served on several boards including the Grinnell Chamber of Commerce, Grinnell United Way, St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Council, and the Grinnell Country Club. He also has served on the Grinnell-Newburg Schools Foundation Board and the Grinnell College-Community Board. Dr. Smith also was a co-chairman of the Grinnell-Newburg School Private Fund Drive that raised 3.9 Million dollars to help supplement the last high school renovation project for a new gym and auditorium. Recently, Dr. Smith co-chaired a fund drive at the Grinnell Golf and Country Club to benefit a capital campaign.
Professionally, Dr. Smith is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. This distinction required a minimum of five years in the academy, completion of a rigorous examination, and completion of 500 hours of continuing education. He also is a member of the American Dental Association and the Des Moines Dental District. He has also participated in numerous dental study clubs.
Dr. Smith’s personal interests include following the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Grinnell Tigers. He also helped coach his two son’s AAU basketball teams for seven years. His greatest passion is the game of golf and traveling with his family. He was selected to volunteer annually at the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia as a gallery guard.
Dr. David Cunningham attended the University Of Iowa and received his B.A. degree in 1984 and entered the University Of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his D.D.S. degree in 1988.
His wife Francesca is a physical therapist at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She also is the mentor coordinator for the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Together they have four children, Ben, Andy, Anna, and Matthew.
Dr. Cunningham was a past member and past president of both the Grinnell Rotary Club and the United Way of Grinnell. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member and past chairman of its past Finance Council. He was a long time den leader and Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 347. Both, him and Francesca are past board members of the Grinnell High School Booster Club.
He is an avid Hawkeye fan, a diehard Cub fan and enjoys spending time with his family. He loves to golf, boat and he loves to read. He is also a Mickey Mouse fanatic!
Dr. Chris Roudabush joined Family Dentistry in 1997. He graduated from Grinnell High School in 1989, Central College in 1993, and The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1997. His wife Jody is a teacher and together they have three children, Sydney, Luke, and Lydia.
Locally, Dr. Roudabush has served on several boards including Central Iowa Christian School, Grinnell Little League, Grinnell Golf and Country Club, and Grinnell Parks and Recreation. He and his family attend Prairie Lakes Church here in Grinnell.
Professionally, Dr. Chris is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, and the Des Moines Dental District. He has had extensive training in implants, oral surgery, crown and bridge, Invisalign, and endodontics (root canals).
When out of the office, Dr. Chris loves to spend time with his wife and kids. He is an avid Hawkeye fan (GO HAWKS!) and enjoys playing basketball and golf. He is very active in coaching his kids in their youth sporting activities.
Dr. Matt Miller has been practicing dentistry since 2001. He graduated from Luther College in 1997 and Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2001. He spent a short time practicing in Colorado before joining Family Dentistry in 2005.
He is a member in good standing of the Academy of General Dentistry, The American Dental Association, and the Iowa Dental Association. He actively pursues continuing education and training, but not just in the routine restorative dentistry arena. His education has been bolstered by investing an additional 200 hours of continuing education in the fields of Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Endodontics. He is also a certified Invisalign provider.
In addition to his fulltime practice with Family Dentistry, Dr. Miller also works part time as a Adjunct Clinical Professor in the department of Operative Dentistry at the University of Iowa. Teaching state of the art techniques to advanced dental students, staying connected to current research, collaborating with some of the best minds in dentistry, Dr. Miller brings a strong academic foundation to his practice.
Dr. Miller has 3 beautiful daughters who have upended his life in the best way. H can make a smooth pony tail and passable pig tails, but is still unable to braid hair. His wife, Amy, always beats him at Scrabble and is the best listener. In his free time he loves to play guitar and fish.
Dr. Peter Marsho joined Family Dentistry in June of 2017. Dr. Marsho is the son of Tim and Patti Marsho, formerly of Grinnell, and oldest brother to Chris and Tom Marsho. Dr. Marsho is happily married to Taylor (Reed) Marsho, who is also a Grinnellian. Native to Grinnell, Dr. Marsho graduated from Grinnell High School in 2008, Grinnell College in 2012, and received his DDS from the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry in 2017.
Professionally, Dr. Marsho is a member of dentistry’s prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon – an honor society based on faculty recommendation, merit, and clinical excellence. Additionally, Dr. Marsho is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Dental Association.
Dr. Marsho is an avid sports fan – cheering hard for the Packers, Duke MBB, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. When not watching sports, Dr. Marsho enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Marsho looks forward to re-immersing himself in the Grinnell community.
